Wow, I can’t believe it’s been two years. Two years that I have been blessed to live out a dream that I prayed for. God is so great and all the glory and honor goes to him!
Let’s talk a little about Shop Bargainista and how it all came into fruition.
Shop Bargainista came into fruition from a dream I had many years ago and let me tell you, it was a very vivid dream. I had a dream that I opened a boutique. I dreamed about the logo, the name and even saw my mom and I buying together. It was overwhelmingly vivid because it was just so detailed. A few years later when I was in college obtaining my degree in retail and fashion merchandising, I met this pastor randomly, didn’t know him and had seen him before, but never didn't know him. He told me that one day a business awaited me and that I should start a business plan and I’m like okkk, so this is like sign number two and I believe whole-heartedly in signs from the most high, so I started working on a business plan and praying over it. It sat for years because at the time, I was uber focused on blogging and sharing my love of clothing and bargains through my outfit photos, but then I took a break from that too. The dream never left my heart and more importantly my prayers because I knew deep down it was my purpose and I knew it from the moment I sat down and worked on my business plan.
Fast-forward to 2020, the year of covid and uncertainty in so many areas of life. I got a big dose of it myself and had no idea this would be the year that I lost my best friend, my confidant prayer partner/warrior and the best mother a girl could have asked for to cancer #cancersucks
In the midst of this devastating loss, I decided to focus on building Shop Bargainista. I gave myself one year to build what is an empire to me in honor of my mom so that on this day instead of being sad I could focus on something we have always wanted to do together. Fast forward to today and we’re celebrating 2 years in business and my mom being in heaven for 3 years. & check out this vintage dress of hers I'm wearing in our shoot pic, I mean I dieee. <3
The most important aspect of all of this is God. I want to give all the glory, honor and praise to him because without him I would have not been able to make it period. He has carried me through and watched over me more than I would ever be able to possibly put into words. God is my strength and my salvation. I want to tell you that no matter what you go through, he is there even when it may not feel like it, he is always in the midst. If you don’t have a relationship with him, it’s never to late for it to begin today. Our God is awesome and I want you to know how awesome he is too!
So cheers, cheers to Shop Bargainista being built off faith, tears and during the most difficult time in my life. Thank you to everyone who has supported me. You supporting a small business is you supporting a dream! To God be the glory!
Cheers to year 2 and many more
