The Burger Tour: From Bargains to Burgers - 80/20 @ Kaelin's

So it’s obvious at this point that I love a bargain. From buying for my small business Shop Bargainista, LLC to sharing my personal bargains I stumble upon on my styledbykris insta, along with my outfit of the day pics, or rocking my mom’s impeccable vintage pieces. It is no surprise the passion I have for finding an unbelievable deal and having the opportunity so share it. My passion for fashion is just so overwhelmingly over the top, like I just can’t even put into words.

Well for those of you who don’t know, I also have a passion for something else and that is food, but more specifically cheeseburgers. Ohhhh cheeseburgers, siiigghhh!! I can’t even put into words how much I love them. I literally even dream about them. Yes, I’m so serious. So one random day I decided that I’m going to start a tour, a cheeseburger tasting tour and that I was going to refer to the series of blog post that I will be sharing about cheeseburgers from Bargains to Burgers. I mean, it just had a ring to it, I love a bargain, but also love a burger so why not share my love of the two with you. I mean look at my Betsey Johnson Kitsch cheeseburger crossbody, if this doesn't scream I love cheeseburgers, Idk what will.

I really don’t remember when my obsession of cheeseburgers started honestly, I just always have really loved them. They are so flavorful and delicious so honesty, how could you not.

After my thoughts on from Bargains to Burgers came into fruition I said hmmm, where should I start because there is so many good places to get a juicy cheeseburger.

Well, one day I was scrolling on insta and I came across a post from thingstolou which is an Instagram page that I follow that shares different things to do in Louisville, KY & there was a picture of a juicy cheeseburger with a perfect pickle hanging off the side of the bun and I was instantly intrigued. The caption said “The cheeseburger was invented in Louisville, KY.” Obviously, I looked no further than the location tagged to get my first cheeseburger for my first Bargains to Burgers post.

Check out thingstolou’s post below to get some history on the cheeseburger.

Fast-forward a few weeks and I was headed to 80/20 @ Kaelin’s to try one. The home of the first cheeseburger was the only option I had for kicking off my burger tour and how perfect it is located right here in Louisville, KY.

Instantly felt good vibes when we walked in. Everyone was so pleasant and our waitress was so nice! I shared with her my love of cheeseburgers and how I had read that the home of the first cheeseburger was right here in Louisville, KY. She shared a few fun facts with me. Cheeseburgers were put on the map by 80/20 @ Kaelin’s as they were the first restaurant to coin the term “cheeseburger” because before that it was just a burger with cheese. Something else that she shared that was interesting, that the Kaelin’s Original Cheeseburger on the menu does not come with lettuce and tomatoes unless requested because during the great depression, they didn’t offer those toppings on burgers, but of course at your request you can add that to your burger today! Another cool fun fact, their hostess stand is Colonel Sanders original breading table, I mean how cool is that!

My interest in cheeseburgers was so peaked after the information that she and her manager shared with me during my visit. I think my passion for cheeseburgers just shined through, but I was carrying a cheeseburger crossbody and wearing cheeseburger earrings to match, because as I share my experiences on my burger tour from Bargains to Burgers of course I will be sharing outfit details too.

Ok, so my cheeseburger came out and of course a smile came across my face when it looked just as yummy and juicy as the pictures I saw on Instagram. Okkkk, I’m about to take my first bite. Let’s see how it is.

BABBBYYYYYY, this cheeseburger did not disappoint. It was so flavorful and fresh. This was 100% the perfect place to kick-off the burger tour.

I highly recommend you try 80/20 @ Kaelin’s because you will not be disappointed, from the stellar customer service and staff being just excited about my burger experience as me! Hands down, you have to have yourself a cheeseburger from 80/20 @ Kaelin's.

The birthplace of the cheeseburger did not disappoint!

Ok, now that we’ve got the burger part out of the way, let’s talk details about my outfit of the day. Kept it simple yet chic and added some burger accessories that I believe will be staple pieces on my burger tour to my look.

I’m wearing my Mom’s vintage Escada double breasted oversized blazer. In my eyes, you can never go wrong with an oversized blazer. It is always easy to pair with anything. For me, I kept it simple and decided to pair it with a white Burberry long sleeved shirt and a pair of ripped jeans I purchased at Ross Dress for Less.

Let’s talk about what is most important though, the cheeseburger accessories! Okkkuurrr, I waited and waited for this Betsey Johnson Kitsch Nice Buns Cheeseburger crossbody to be back in stock and scooped it right up as soon as it was. You’ll see this on every cheeseburger tour stop, so get used to her. I got so many compliments on this bag yesterday, the zipper is even a pickle! I paired this bag with my cheeseburger earrings and with that my friends, we have our first outfit of the day for the cheeseburger tour.

I hope you’re going to enjoy from Bargains to Burgers as much as I am going to! I’m elated to share my love of all things bargains to all things burgers with you!
